IWKA 2009 TOURNAMENT PROGRAM

THE ISSHINRYU WORLD KARATE ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS will bring many contestants, schools, and guests together over a three day period.  Contestants covering an age range of at least 65 years will be competing and demonstrating the results of years and hours of training.  The symbolism of two rivers, the Allegheny and the Monongahela, merging to form the head  waters of the Ohio have often been used to remind others coming to Pittsburgh over the centuries of how people come together, share their energies, and go away richer for the experiences and their new found interpersonal connections.

As hosts to IWKA 2009 Championships, we, IKA of Pittsburgh members, want you to feel good about coming to our "community home."  It is part of the reason for having the Tournament in Downtown Pittsburgh, close to so many interesting things to do. We've also planned many special features at the Hilton to make the Championships be exciting, interesting, easy to manage, and convenient for competing and watching.

We hope you will join in all the events planned below and take time to enjoy many other activities in the immediate and general area.
