The Isshinryu Karate Academy of Pittsburgh spans 40 years teaching students through Hanshi Duessel.  His students continue to practice and teach other students from Seattle and California to Texas, Florida to Maine.  With 17 active instructors and many other associate instructors in the Pittsburgh area, the Dojo is as much a club as it is a school.  With many black belts having 20 to 35 years of experience, training and teaching have become a way of life to the point that IKA Pittsburgh has been reorganized as a not for profit organization to allow its instructors to reach out more broadly into the community.
